Do you have dehydrated skin and struggle to use baking techniques because you end up looking floury, powdery and fine lines you never knew you had seem to appear for the day?

It’s a problem I’ve always struggled with due to having dehydrated skin and I’m sure many of you out there struggle with too. I came across a vlog Chloe Morello put up on her channel after going to a Makeup with Ariel Masterclass (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koI9RVzzyGo) and she mentioned some interesting techniques used by Makeup with Ariel that I thought might be adapted to help those with dehydrated skin have success using baking techniques. She also talked about other makeup techniques that are used to give that Kardashian makeup look that’s so in right now. So I thought I would give it a go and see how it all works on dehydrated skin.

Although it wasn’t a complete success I do think there were a few things that really helped the baking look a lot less powdery on my dehydrated skin throughout the day. I have tried these techniques a few times since filming this and can say with certainty that prep is key. Make sure you have used a hydrating mask either the night before, or earlier in the day, and follow the hydration prep tips shown in the video. Also a hydrating mist like MAC Fix+ is your best friend. Spraying it on generously and frequently keeps that powdered look at bay without compromising the flawless finish that comes with baking.

Let me know if you have found any good tips for baking on dehydrated skin. I’d love to give them a go!
